Our November meeting at the Englander brought a great group together. New to
our group is Stephanie Delaney on her green Ledgend. The atmosphere was very
English as well.
We started with a 50/50 raffle for a Triumph book called The Return of the
Legend by David Minton. Carrolyn was the winner of the 50/50 draw. Not sure how
many of you are aware that this book has been discontinued. Carrolyn was a happy
camper.
We have decided that we are not going to require dues for our Pack. However, we
will be thankful for any donations and for non-Triumph owners who come to our
events, there may be a minimal fee.
We have got the go one shirts and Roger, Greg and Tim are working on our Rat
Pack shirts.
The International Motorcycle Show was great. The Triumph section was nicely set
up. The Rocket III was on a turnstile and was drawing quite the crowd. I believe
however, that the Rocket III overshadowed the Truxton. For those who like the
café look, this bike is for you. Triumph also had on display, the “Val Moto” 600
Daytona race bike ridden by Bruce Anstey, winner of the Junior TT race at the
Isle Of Mann 2003. Whew…. Nice bike. I heard there would be limited replicas of
this bike produced. How nice is THAT Idea?
I met our new area Manager for Triumph, Mark Kahapea. He is all about Triumph
and I believe we have a feather in our caps (or helmets) with him aboard. He is
looking forward to being part of our Rat Pack. The show overall was pleasant and
I hope that as more people become enchanted with Triumphs we see more of them on
the roads. Observing the crowds around the Triumph motorcycle section, I may
just get that wish.
For the Christmas party, we thought it would be a good idea to have a potluck.
I will cook up and Turkey and Ham and I will have alcoholic beverages for those
who wish to have them. Those who are attending please email me with an RSVP and
let me know what you are bringing.
As another reminder, Triumph IS planning on
attending the party, so it would be nice for them to see lots of their Triumphs
and enthusiasts who love their bikes! As I said earlier please brush up on your
Triumph Trivia… there is a madness to all this.
Those of you who are in the
North Bay, Ducati, Triumph, and Yamaha of Marin are having their open house on
November 22. You can go to their website for information. http://www.dtyofmarin.com.
The January Meeting will be in San Francisco, for those of you who are in the
city.
Oh…have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!!!
We look forward to seeing you at the party. Be safe, happy and warm while riding
your Triumph!
Pack Leader,
Maya
