Meetings Notes - September 2004

First let me say that the Doc Wong safety Clinic up on Skyline was well attended by all types of riders. From suspension adjustments to back adjustments with a classic bike show in between, I’d say that Doc Wong did an excellent job. For those of you who made it there, I hope there was something to be learned about riding safely on the roads.

Next, our Lake Cachuma ride south was awesome. Within the mixture of lovely Nortons, BSAs, Velocettes and others, there we were with our new Triumphs just fitting right in there. There were field events and great rides. We rode into Solvang to the motorcycle museum there where we saw a lot of cool bikes. There were some neat Japanese and German bikes as well. The weather was a bit on the hot side, but it was a great gathering of people and motorcycles.

Our next ride is tomorrow, September 11th. Tim will lead the ride and leave at California Triumph in Mountain View around 9:30 to ride up to Alice’s Restaurant. We will meet around 10 am at Alice’s and then Tim will take us on an easy loop down the coast line and back to Alice’s. Once there, we will have lunch and a raffle around 2pm.

Older Triumphs are welcomes as well, so if you know of someone who has one sitting around, tell them to shake the dust off and come out for the ride! We will see you there hopefully.

Our meeting was in the warm night. A new member, Dennis arrived on a beautiful 955i “SE” Daytona. Carollyn had a slight shifting problem on her RS which left her stuck in one gear on the freeway, so she hoofed it home and trucked it to the meeting.

As summer now is coming to an end, we kicked back enjoying the summer night discussing the new looks of the 05 Triumph models. They are definitely changing with the times. To check out what Triumph has been up to, go to this link: http://www.rideteamtriumph.com/news.htm.

Our next meeting will be in San Leandro at “The Englander” on October 13th. Our ride will be on Saturday the 16th, Meeting at Cal Triumph at 9:30. We will head down towards Half Moon Bay to “Cameron’s” restaurant for lunch.

Coming events in November will be the motorcycle show and the all British ride.

Signing off for now, may you enjoy a wonderful end of the summer and may autumn leaves fall gently down to the ground but not get in your way when you ride.
